Meet The Team
Cierra Lee is a young artist and teacher who delights in changing lives through music. While in high school and college, she was actively involved, not only musically but also socially with various activities including show choir, opera productions, campus recreation team, peer leading, percussion ensemble, urban dance club, musical theatre productions, and marching band. She even participated in master classes with NYC singers (like Natalie Weiss) and travelled the East Coast performing in prisons.
Once attaining a Bachelor of Music from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, she moved back home to Ohio and started A.R.I.S.E. with Cierra. Since then, she has worked with hundreds of vocalists of all ages, honing in on how the voice works and how to achieve many different styles and genres in a healthy way. She is passionate about equipping students (regardless of age, rage, identity, sexuality, religion, or singing level) with the knowledge and competency to be self-sustaining once they branch out from the studio.
As an advocate for growth, learning, efficiency, reach, and maximum impact, Cierra is passionate at cultivating her own skills and leadership. Because of his, she jumps on the opportunities as they come. She has attended multiple trainings with Estill Voice Training (with Kim Steinhauer & Tom Burke) and was asked to attend the initial beta testing for the Integrated Vocal Pedagogy course with Kerri Obert (MA, CCC/SLP), Matthew Ellenwood (MM, Ellenwood Studios), and David Hoffman (MM, EMT). She also worked with Tom Burke (MS, CCC, SLP) to expand her ARISE business model. Additonally, she studies with Kerri Obert (MA, CCC/SLP) privately and is a member of both NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and The Voice Foundation.
In February 2020, Cierra had the privilege of singing backup for Natalie Grant, Danny Gokey, Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Mark Lowry, and Russ Taff at Carnegie Hall in NYC. She has since attended "belxing" class with NYC vocal coach, Matt Farnsworth, and Broadway singer, Alyssa Fox (Elphaba in Wicked & Elsa in Frozen).
Cierra previously served as the Assistant Vocal Music Director and Combo Director of the Grove City High School Show Choirs (Touch of Class & Class Act) and has also completed countless workshops with various local worship teams and bands.
Outside of A.R.I.S.E., Cierra serves as the Worship Leader at Crosslink Community Church. She has a huge heart for worship, prison ministry, victims of human trafficking, at-risk youth, missions, and anyone in need. Her daily goal is to use music to bring light to a dark world in any capacity, while working to be a better leader, mentor and teacher. She has plans to share some of her own music with the world in the future. She absolutely loves all the ways she has be able to use her gifts and hopes that each individual she teaches walks away with knowledge and inspiration.
Sydney Kret is from Westerville, Ohio and graduated from Westerville South High School. Throughout high school, Sydney was involved in National Honor Society, Symphonic Mixed Choir, theatre, and the Soundsation acapella group. Sydney’s love for singing and serving led her to join both the main worship team and youth worship team at Rock City Church which occupies her most Sundays. She loves helping students cultivate their relationship with Christ. In 2020, Sydney discovered A.R.I.S.E. with Cierra and joined the studio in 2021. Sydney is currently a sophomore at The Ohio State University where she is studying psychology to become a physician’s assistant and pursue a career in psychiatric care for children and teens. She is excited to use her gifts and talents to contribute to the development of the studio while working alongside Cierra.
